Equipping women to live by God’s Word and become women on fire for God.
Her personal journey informs a ministry of compassion, resilient faith, and a deep commitment to evangelism.
Rev. Helena Ramatu Abdulai serves as Head Pastor of Dalung Assemblies of God Church and as a lecturer at Assemblies of God Theological and Missions Seminary. She has also served as Secretary for the Assemblies of God North West Region for 15 years.
Rev. Helena Ramatu Abdulai was born into a Muslim family. She became a Christian in 1999 while attending senior secondary school in Wulugu, through the ministry of Rev. Peter Braimah, a Fulani minister who is now retired.
When her father, an Imam, learned of her conversion, she faced significant opposition at home. After secondary school, she moved from northern Ghana to Kumasi to support herself, taking whatever work she could find. She returned to her parents in December 2002.
During 2003, while living with her family, she read her New Testament in private and was unable to attend church freely. Despite these difficulties, she continued to hold on to her faith.
In 2004, she raised funds to enrol in a two-year secretarial programme at Gubdanda Vocational School. To support her studies, she worked on other people’s farms. In February 2006, she secured employment with an NGO as a secretary and accountant in Tamale.
During this season of work and independence, she recognised God’s call upon her life. She sat the entrance examination for Northern Ghana Bible College on 23 November 2007, began her theological training in January 2008, and graduated in 2010 before entering full-time ministry.

The Gleaners Ministry equips women to become true worshippers, live by God’s Word, and grow in prayer for their families, their nations, and the mission of the Church.
Drawing from Daniel’s resolve in Daniel 1:8, Rev. Helena teaches women to resist worldly influences and honour God through faithful, obedient living.
Following the prayerful examples of Anna in Luke 2:36–38 and Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, she encourages women to intercede for their husbands, children, nations, and the Church’s mission work, bringing their burdens to God in prayer.
Her theological training supports her work as a pastor, educator, and researcher.
